- From the entrance to the ABN Scotland Damside Mill on the A914,
head west along the footpath away from Cupar. (See Cupar to Damside section).

- When the footpath ends, cross the main road where entry to the
track is signed opposite, through a wooden fence with gateway. This track was
the main road from Cupar to Kennoway till 200 years ago.
- Make your way on this path through woodland, where the old
track has sunk between high banks and whose old stone walls have crumbled in
places - watch out for fallen stones and trees.
- When the minor road Sandybrae is reached turn right and after
30 metres, the track continues on the left up towards Scotstarvit Tower. Take
care in this narrow section as boulders may be a problem.

- On reaching the top, turn left onto the farm track which passes
the entry to Scotstarvit Tower and leads to Hill of Tarvit estate after 0.5
mile.Take care crossing the A916 on the brow of a hill.
- Enter the grounds of the National Trust Property, Hill of
Tarvit Mansionhouse and garden,
Hill of Tarvit and walk by the road keeping the new 9 hole
golf course on your right. This course will be played using traditional clubs
and balls.
- Walk through the grounds by the main drive and leave through
the gates to join Wemysshall Road where you turn right.

- After 200 metres turn left down a farm track to Craigrothie.
- Descend to a ford over the Craigrothie burn. Pedestrians cross
by an ancient packhorse bridge.
- Cross the bridge and continue up the road for 50 metres then
turn left by Craigrothie House where some cobbles are laid across the road.
Follow this lane past Old Mill Cottage on the left, and turn right up a narrow
footpath just before reaching the gate to 'The Old Mill' house.
- At the top of the narrow path, cross the Craigrothie to Ceres
road, to signposted farm road to Denhead Farm.
- Continue on to Denhead farm where you turn left along the old
coach road to Ceres. This is an unpaved track.

- The track emerges in the village of Ceres, opposite the village
green car park where a rest stop may be taken.
- Cross over the road to the village green, keeping on the path
on the left side of the green.
- The path makes its way along the left side of the burn and
crosses a metal pedestrian bridge before finishing at the Meldrum's Inn.
- Turn left at Meldrum's and follow the main Cupar road, to the
point where the road turns sharply right with chevrons. Carry straight on up
the cul-de-sac Moor Road which is signed 'Footpath to Cupar'.
- As the track starts to level out, there is a signed footpath T
junction on your right before a wooden gateway.
- To follow the 9 mile route, carry straight on to Cupar.
- For the 13 mile route, turn right.
