Damside to Cupar Section (1.5
miles)
- From the entrance to the ABN Scotland Damside Mill on the A914,
head east along the footpath towards Cupar. (See Cupar to Damside section).
- Just after entering the main housing of Cupar on the left, at a bus stop, take the lane on the left (the Cow Brae), down to the river. At one time there was a dairy farm near here and the cattle which grazed on the river meadows came this way for milking. Turn right along the riverside.
- The path continues beside the river, across the 'common' to Fisher's laundry, where there are some metal steps over a low bank. Follow the path up beside Fishers to emerge just opposite the railway station.
- Turn left and continue over the railway bridge into Cupar and down to cross the river Eden bridge .
- Pass a used car business on your left and turn right into
Crossgate staying on the left side of Crossgate.
- After only 20 metres, walk up some steps on your left into Short Lane, just before the Post Office.
- Continue up this narrow lane passing St.John's Church hall on your right.
- At the end of the lane turn left and after 100 metres turn right down Provost Wynd, back to Age Concern.
